The Careers & Enterprise Company was established in 2015 to help link schools and colleges to employers, in order to increase employer engagement for young people. Our mission is to prepare and inspire young people for the fast-changing world of work.
This is an exciting time at The Careers & Enterprise Company. During our first three years, we have worked with Local Enterprise Partnerships to build a national network which now links 2,000 schools and colleges to employers. We have also funded 150 programmes to provide high-quality employer engagement activities to young people where they are needed most.
The CEC's diverse software product suite helps prepare young people for successful careers. Our existing tools are primarily B2B, used by school staff. We are now developing B2B tools for employers, as well as B2C tools for other stakeholders.
You will be responsible for the software architecture and development, technical processes, quality, delivery and deployment of the CEC's software product suite. This includes recruitment, mentoring, team building and day-to-day line management of the software development team. This is a hands-on role and you will be helping with development tasks, reviewing code and merging code for releases. Information security and GDPR compliance are critical to the organisation and you will lead on all security aspects of the product suite's technical architecture, development and deployment.
You will work side-by-side with other ‘Heads of' who manage different tools and different aspects of the product lifecycle (e.g. marketing and user adoption).
You will be involved in the strategy for the CEC's software product suite including the development and planning of the high-level and detailed roadmaps.
Our organisation has a privileged opportunity to make a difference to the lives of millions of young people, helping to inspire and prepare them for the fast-changing world of work, and we want you to help us make it happen.
