This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role providing first-line IT support at a world leading organisation within award winning offices.

The UK Hydrographic Office surveys and charts the world's oceans in order to provide geospatial data to inform maritime decisions. We work with a wide range of data suppliers and partners to support maritime navigation, safety, security and marine development around the UK and worldwide.

In this role, you will be a central point of contact for all IT issues and will be responsible for logging all incidents and providing advice and technical support to fix incidents, whilst also assigning incidents to the appropriate second/third line teams when deemed appropriate.

There will be occasions when you will be presented with complex and challenging technical issues, particularly around software installations, and unusual faults that will entail significantly deeper investigation.

You will also be responsible for account creations, changes and remote accesses and the management of the equipment loan pool as well as monitoring quarantined emails and SPAM emails.

What we are looking for 

You will need experience of supporting an IT desktop environment, demonstrating sound judgement and strong customer skills in dealing with a variety of situations.

Knowledge of Microsoft software's, Windows 7, 8 &10 and Office 365 is also essential.
