For one of the biggest E-commerce companies worldwide we are looking for a Devops Engineer who has experience with Google Cloud Platform. The duration of the contract will be 1 year with option to extend. Location: Amsterdam About the TeamThe TnS (Trust and Safety) team is responsible for developing and maintaining the global TnS platform that will be used for ensuring the least harm possible from fraudsters and spammers; the platform is a backend service used by our client all over the world. TnS team is a diverse international team that believes in collaboration, ideas sharing, continuous growth and no blaming culture.We are a single journey team therefore we build, deploy and operate our product. You will be part of it and your responsibilities lies mainly on the cloud infrastructure management improving efficiency, scalability and reliability. Responsibilities* Know how to build robust, fault-tolerant and highly scalable Web Services that support our global growth.* Write, review and help to ship software to improve the availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency of our services.* Leverage system and software engineering skills to address the needs of the teams.* Engage in service capacity planning and demand forecasting, software performance analysis and system tuning.* Share on-call rotations. Qualifications* Engineering degree or equivalent work experience* Experience with one or more cloud provider (preferred GCP)* Programming skills in one or more of: Python, Go, Java, Scala, open to pick up new ones.* Hands-on experience with infrastructure automation tools and orchestrators (Terraform)* Strong expertise with monitoring frameworks (StackDriver, Grafana, Kibana, Prometheus)* Strong expertise to operate Kafka and Elasticsearch.* Feel ownership over everything you ship. You pride yourself on efficient monitoring and strong documentation.* Good on your own, but shine in a team.* Working knowledge of the TCP/IP stack, internet routing and load balancing. Preferred* Expertise in designing, analysing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.* Strong experience with Java or Kotlin.* Deep network analysis experience a plus.* Strong Linux system-level analysis capabilities.* Systematic problem solving approach, coupled with a strong sense of ownership and drive.* Proven skill and passion for operational perfection.Michael Bailey International is acting as an Employment Business in relation to this vacancy.
