Technical Officer (Electronics), UCD School of Biomolecular and Biomedical Science (Permanent)

Applications are invited for a permanent post of a Technical officer within UCD School of Biomolecular and Biomedical Science.

The UCD School of Biomolecular and Biomedical Science delivers five of the most popular undergraduate subjects (Biochemistry, Genetics, Microbiology, Neuroscience, Pharmacology) in the UCD Science Programme. In addition, the School delivers six highly sought after taught MSc programmes (Biotechnology, Biotechnology & Business,

Biotherapeutics, Biotherapeutic & Business, Toxicology & Regulatory Affairs and Biological & Biomolecular Science). Both our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes include laboratory-based classes. In addition to our teaching activities, the School is home to over 40 academic staff with highly successful research programmes.

The School is seeking to appoint a Technical Officer (Electronics) to provide essential electronics technical support for teaching, research and innovation activities within the School and with the day to day running of the electronics workshop. The role will include design, construction, repair and maintenance of a variety of laboratory and scientific electrical and electronic equipment and requires hardware, software and organisational skills. The position requires adaptability, flexibility and an ability to work well with all staff in the school.

95 Technical Officer (2013) Salary Scale: £38,740 - £51,431 per annum

Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines.
