Along with their sister company, are coming together as part of a new group of companies launching as an exciting new, unified brand, in Autumn 2019.The group delivers fully managed services in IaaS (Servers and Desktops), DRaaS and BaaS (Backup as a Service) to select direct customers but primarily via the channel. The UK team is growing rapidly and has a number of vacancies in both technical and sales. They have further offices in Reading, Dublin and Rotterdam.2019 has been a phenomenal year, with a number of new UK & global team hires, a handful of acquisitions across Western Europe, and very strong organic growth. 2020 looks to be even busier!The Role:The London office is a lively and dynamic place with an energetic hard-working team, of which 70% work in a technical role. This current role has arisen to help support the growing team, and support the Service Delivery Director managing the helpdesk and providing an excellent 'white glove' service to customers!They plan for a fast expansion and the next senior technical hire they are seeking is going to be influential within the team, someone who can bring a much-needed Windows expertise to their existing estate and new, and inspire junior staff and customers alike!Key Requirements:The ideal candidate will be truly passionate about IT and have at least five years' experience in an IT technical role supporting Windows Server platforms in a VMware environment or Azure.You will be happy liaising with customers in person and over the phone as most support and consultancy is provided remotely.You should be able to explain technical issues in easily understood terms.You will need to be able to work in a team and help ensure the company meet or exceed their SLAs.You will be responsible for managing your own time and should have strong project management skills as you will be working on multiple projects at the same time.You will be expected to join the on call, out of hours rota, and work outside of standard M-F office hours on occasion for planned maintenance activities.The successful Candidate will have/ be:EssentialWindows Server 2008/2012/2016 Expert levelVMware vSphere deployments as well as physical server deploymentsTroubleshooting IT issues both logical and physicalSolid Customer Facing experience and good communication skillsGood general knowledge of RDSH, VDI, and DaaS in generalAzure and 365 deployment experience including Hybrid and Cut-over methods for Exchange migrationsAbility to research and propose new services, solutions, tools, to customers and the team when needs ariseBe able to proffer proactive advice and technical guidance to customersGood all-round generalist infrastructure knowledge, e.g. Firewalls, Switches, Routers, Storage Platforms, etcDesirableTeam leadership experience or a desire to step up and manage a small helpdesk teamKnowledge of Microsoft App-V deploymentKnowledge of Microsoft System CentreWorking knowledge of Linux (Redhat, CentOS, Debian or Ubuntu)What they offer in return:Mobile phone or contribution to BYODCompany LaptopPrivate healthcare (following successful probation)Workplace pension schemeProduct training and ongoing mentoring from across the groupOccasional international travel (to customer offices or group office locations)Ability to work from home on occasion when requiredPlease click on the APPLY button to send your CV and Cover Letter for this role.STRICTLY NO AGENCIESCandidates with the relevant experience or job titles of: IT Services Manager, Senior Service Desk Engineer, Senior IT Engineer, IT Service Desk Technician, Senior Systems Engineer, IT Manager, Senior IT Support Engineer, IT Trainer, Senior Support Technician, Technical Support Manager, IT Support Engineer, Software Engineer, Technical Support, IT Support, IT Systems Engineer, IT Systems Support may also be considered for this role.
