This company is a global leader in end-to-end Quality Assurance (QA) and Cyber Security. They work with key high-technology businesses in numerous markets including consumer electronics, software development, automotive, IoT, connected health and media.

They are looking for a creative, dynamic, and passionate C# / .NET Software Engineer, to join their development team based in Central Bristol.

They want someone who is naturally curious and has the willingness and the capacity to quickly learn. They need a great communicator and team player, who has a keen eye for detail as well as having good problem-solving skills.

Candidates must have software development experience working in a commercial environment. (They will consider a variety of experience levels for this role from junior up to experienced Software Engineer - the salary range reflects this)

Duties and responsibilities include:

- Derive requirements and design, develop and support their products

- Participate in all project activities (daily meetings estimation sessions, etc.)

- Identify and communicate issues, risks and dependencies in advance

- Dependent on experience:

o Responsible for technical decisions and direction

o Provide technical leadership / mentoring

Key Skills/Experience:

- Ability to analyse specifications and standards to derive requirements

- Excellent communication skills

- An interest in DevOps and software engineering best practices: you know and care about source control, continuous integration and writing clean code

- C#, .NET

- AWS (minimum requirement is knowledge of Cloud technology concepts)

Desirable Skills/Experience:

- C++/C, Python, Django, PHP, JavaScript

- Windows and Linux OS

- SVN/GitHub, JIRA and Jenkins

- Bachelor's degree in either Computer Science, Electronic Engineering or another technical/scientific subject from a recognized university.

- Experience of the broadcast and consumer electronics industry, covering technologies like:

o networking and/or content streaming (TCP/IP, HTTP, UDP)

o applications and web-technologies (such as HTML5)

o media formats, e.g. MPEG, H.264, H.265, AAC, ISOBMFF, MPEG-DASH, especially in creating, modifying, and analysing such formats

- Your ability and willingness to pick up new languages and tools to support their product development, is what they value the most.
