A well-established financial institution is looking for a well versed Network Engineer to join a thriving team in Sydney CBD on an initial 12 month contract.

What you'll do:

Responding to incoming support incidents in a timely and efficient manner.Improve on proactivity and ensure all of processes are being reviewed to ensure efficiencyContributing to procedural documentation and knowledge base as requiredContribute to the day to day support and implementation of projectsManagement of Core Network Infrastructure including Monitoring and Capacity PlanningLiaise between the customer, stakeholders and infrastructure to provide innovative solutions for my clientCustomers (internal and external)

Support my client's core network, including Datacentre Network, Internet, Office, Service Provider Network,Network Monitoring and Security.

Mentoring team members as required.Assist in the deployment of networks to support MY CLIENT and backend projectsWhat you've done:

Good understanding of network management framework5 years' experience working on network routing technologies (Static/RIP/OSPF/BGP)Develop and implement network management platform using commercial and open source toolExperienced in configuring Telemetry, gRPC, IP SLA, SNMP, Netflow, etc on network devicesScripting skills for network automationExperience in Python programming language for API IntegrationWorked with monitoring tools and developed metrics for network availabilityKnowledge of F5, Arista, Cisco, Ciena, Cumulus, VOIP and Palo Alto networking technologiesVPNs (SSL and IPsec, preferably also with exposure to route based VPNs, VTIs, GRE, and DMVPN).Intermediate level Linux skillsExcellent customer service skillsExperience working with mission critical networksDescription of experience (avoid years of experience, think of the fit for flexibility)Use understandable, easy languageAnd if you've got some of this, even better:

Understanding of Security in NetworkingKnowledge and support of operating systems - Windows / LinuxTertiary degree in computer science/engineering/telecommunications.Vendor certifications CCNP / CCIE, F5, Palo Alto etc.What you need to enjoy and be good at for this role:
