This university is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic individual to lead a dynamic team charged with the development and delivery of their extensive cloud services and on-campus infrastructure.

The work includes high-profile complex IT projects, operational support across a range of hybrid and hyperscale IT infrastructure, network and communication services, supporting and enhancing cybersecurity measures as well as managing a growing portfolio of third party partners and suppliers. This is a new, exciting but demanding role working across hybrid cloud environments and core IT infrastructure to support digital transformation across the university. The role is part of a wider Technology Services area and will work closely with the Technology Development Leader (development of all IT outside this team), the Technology Delivery Leader (supporting all end-user IT and AV devices) and the IT Project Manager.

You will have strong people and leadership skills which you will use to build your team, work with colleagues across the Service and the wider university as well as external partners and suppliers. You will embrace change and understand how to manage the delivery of it across your team. You will have experience of leading people, using formal project management techniques, waterfall or agile, and working with suppliers, ideally including formal tendering and contract management.

Information Services

Information Services covers the complete range of information-related functions: from IT infrastructure, through to computers, tablets, phones and audio-visual equipment to information systems and desktop software, formal & informal study spaces, print and electronic learning resources - and advice on how to use them - academic and digital skills and supporting the research of students and staff.

They provide strategic leadership for IT, library and academic skills and work collaboratively with academic departments, professional services and students to advise on opportunities and good practice and to provide the best possible support for their needs. For all their services they innovate and develop as well as provide support in person, virtually and through online and physical resources.
