London

£65,000 per annum

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Management Office Lead to join a fast paced, dynamic Actuarial and Insurance consulting business. You will be developing, embedding and managing new project based software implementation framework and PMO as well as developing, implementing and managing software implementation projects for external clients.

You will be working with Actuaries on a day to day basis and would be able to:

* Work effectively with a diverse team of leads and innovation specialists to benefit the organisation and external clients

* Implement high quality project based software implementation to a team of actuarial consultants

About the role:

The PMO Lead will be responsible for running internal consulting changes as well as external client projects. This includes defining and maintaining project and task management methodologies and maintaining a calendar for project delivery. It is a practical, hands-on role in a rapidly growing environment, aimed at further development and managing the ability to complete software implementation projects for clients.

Key responsibilities:

* Provide structure project management approach

* Mentor and train actuarial workforce on how to plan and execute software implementations

* Ensure teams have clear understanding of processes and tools related to project initiation, delivery and project closure, and provide support and guidance where needed

* Help refine existing resource management systems to provide robust forecasts of project resource

* Work closely with technical, operations and engagement teams to ensure project portfolio resourcing needs are forecast-ed and resource levels are managed

Candidate profile:

Technical skills:

* Must have experience of working with Actuaries

* Experience in establishing a new PMO function

* Highly organised and numerate with an attention to detail

* Experience of working in an ITIL environment

* Experience of managing delivery of complex multi-stakeholder projects and implementations in a software house

Personal skills:

* Have excellent problem solving skills

* Manage work effectively to maximise success of the organisation

* Highly developed organisational skills including ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in high-pressure

* Work collaboratively dealing with diverse internal and external stakeholders and the ability to enable and gain commitment to new project management framework and ways of working
