Senior Microwave Specialist (Electromagnetics)

Would you like to work for the BAE Systems Advanced Technology Solutions (ATS) centre of excellence for research, development and manufacture of low observable materials and micro and nano scale technologies? We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Microwave Specialist (Electromagnetics) at our site in Towcester Specialist which is a key role within the Electromagnetics group.

The Microwave Materials capability has been at the forefront of microwave material design and manufacture for over 60 years and you will join our team of experts working on the design and development of radar absorbent materials, radar transparent materials and specialist antenna products for exploitation through the on-site manufacturing facility. We also undertake research into novel materials and provide a consultancy service to platform providers both within and external to BAE Systems.

As a Senior Microwave Specialist (Electromagnetics), you will be required to maintain and help expand the Electromagnetics capability within the ATS Microwave Materials business through the development of new and emerging technologies including antenna integration and disruptive electronics.

Your main responsibilities as a Senior Microwave Specialist (Electromagnetics) will involve:

Representing the company as a technical specialist in the field of Electromagnetics

Supporting the development of new technologies to help grow the business in line with ambitious growth plans

Maintaining and building on the Electromagnetic test & measurement facilities at the Towcester site in line with strategic requirements

Working with other ATS specialists to provide expertise and support to key programmes

Building direct customer and stakeholder relationships to assist in ensuring effective project delivery and identifying new business opportunities in line with the ATS business strategy

Leading development projects requiring the design of low observable solutions and specialised conformal antennas

Your skills and qualifications as a Senior Microwave Specialist (Electromagnetics):

Essential:

Degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant scientific / engineering discipline

A sound understanding of Microwave Engineering or Electromagnetic theory and principles or appropriate transferrable skills

Excellent communication and report writing skills

Desirable:

Experience in product design and development

Electromagnetic 3D simulation experience including antenna design
