Technologies involved Digital, Open Source, ScalaDigital technologiesScala, Play Framework, mongoDB, Java, JSON, XML, Microservices, Docker, Puppet, IntelliJ, IDE, Sbt, CSS,Mandatory technical skills Open Source & Digital experience - the ability to pick up new tools.Desirable technical skills Understanding of common web application architecturesExperience configuring and managing Linux servers for serving a dynamic websiteExperience debugging a complex multi-server serviceScripting or basic programming skillsFamiliarity with network protocols - TCP/IP, HTTP, SSL, etc. Installation and management of open source monitoring toolsConfiguration management tools like Puppet, ChefDeploying and configuring machines in a Cloud environmentUnderstanding of application deployment strategies and continuous integrationWorking within a product-centric environmentExperience of DevOps culture and working practicesExperience with, and appreciation of, Agile/Lean development methods, practices and techniques * Solid development experience preferably in Open Source language e.g. Java/C#/HaskellExperience with continuous integration tool, such as JenkinsExperience administering web servers, application servers, and servlet containers, such as Nginx, Tomcat, NodeJs etcExperience testing and automated testing tools, such as Selenium, Gatling, Cucumber, GherkinExpert knowledge of Windows and Linux (Ubuntu) technologies and administrationFamiliar with common diagnostic methodologies, and the deployment and use of monitoring tools incl.
