Head of IT who has significant experience leading, developing and managing a centralised IT function with the ability to oversee and develop core IT systems and infrastructures is required for a fast-growing Multi Academy Trust based in Stanmore, North West London.
This is a newly formed centralised IT function with a newly formed team, which provides a great opportunity to build a solid foundation of centralised IT services for the Academy Trust.
SALARY: up to £52,000 per annum + Benefits
LOCATION: Stanmore, North West London
JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

JOB OVERVIEW
We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Head of IT who has significant experience leading, developing and managing a centralised IT function with the ability to oversee and develop core IT systems and infrastructures.
This is a new position. Working as the Head of IT you will have the responsibility for playing a key role in the determination of the IT service and provision to all schools and services. Overseeing and developing the core IT systems and infrastructure where you will be required to identify, plan and lead projects throughout the entire project life cycle.
As the Head of IT, you will have excellent operational experience, combined with a deep awareness of IT Hardware, Systems / Infrastructures and Software. You will also have excellent staff leadership skills with the ability to manage, deploy and develop your team effectively.

DUTIES
Your duties and responsibilities as the Head of IT:
Lead, manage and develop the IT service for all schools and services within the Trust
Ensure that the IT operations and support are aligned to the operational and strategic plans of the Trust
Work with senior management to ensure efficient and effective governance, planning and reporting mechanisms assist in the running of the IT function; to ensure is fit for purpose and runs effectively
Develop and maintain the IT supply chain, working closely with external partners and suppliers to ensure efficient, effective and value for money provision of services and hardware
Manage and lead the IT operations team, directly line managing a team of technical engineers, effectively delegating tasks and taking overall responsibility for project management and workflows
Ensure that there is an ICT infrastructure at trust school sites and connected organisations which meets the needs of all users
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
A Degree, appropriate professional qualification or equivalent
An ITIL Qualification - Expert certification
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
IT project management experience
A deep understanding of contemporary software licensing arrangements
Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills
