A leading educational institute based in the Milton Keynes area is currently recruiting for a Project Manager to work within the Information services and be responsible in providing portfolio management, project management and business systems analysis services primarily to IT-enabled projects. As the Project Manager your focus will be on managing the successful delivery of mainly software related projects ranging in size and budget typically 2-3 projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

*The post holder is accountable and responsible for the delivery of a range (scale /complexity) of IS enabled business projects

*The role requires a highly skilled individual capable of operating confidently and decisively in the delivery of projects. The post holder will have a successful background in:

oDelivering a range (size / complexity) of business projects enabled by IT, to include the delivery of business change and new / enhanced IT capabilities.

oLeading project teams comprising of IS colleagues and business colleagues

oProviding effective governance and stakeholder management tailored to the project / steering group needs.

oInfluencing all parts of the organisation.

*Providing clear leadership and motivation of project team members, encompassing external vendors and resources as appropriate.

*Establishing and thereafter managing a robust and effective plan for the project (through to closure and including a warranty period), both in terms of scheduling and resourcing. The management and plan will need to reflect the degree of IT enabled change and business change.

*Selection of the best project approach e.g. waterfall, Agile, Hybrid (working with the head of PPMO).

*Delivery of projects against the latest approved plan focusing on cost management, schedule management and scope management whilst not compromising quality.

*Providing, managing and contributing to an effective governance framework that has been tailored to the project and stakeholder needs (including reporting, governance meetings and the maintenance of project sites) and aligns to the methodologies already established and in place (waterfall, agile and hybrid). Establishing and thereafter ongoing management of a robust and effective Risk, Assumptions, Issues and Dependencies (RAID) culture on the project.

*Effective stakeholder management and communications management for the project., working with a multiple stakeholders, including senior PSU business leaders, academics, 3rd party suppliers, end users and colleagues

*Establishing capabilities (process / organisation / people) for subsequent benefit realization by the sponsoring departments
