Operational Risk Manager/ Location - London & East Midlands / Contract - Permanent / £ 60 -75K

We are looking for an operational Risk Manager for a financial services client based in London or the East Midlands. The client is focused on supporting international trade, payments and associated foreign exchange needs of clients. To be successful in this role you will need Operational Risk management experience working within a Building Society or Challenger Bank.

Overall duties of the role

*Support the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) in enhancing and embedding the Operational Risk framework across all business units, maintaining elements of the risk management framework and providing input to policies and procedures.

*Perform oversight of the Operational Risk incident management process. The Operational Risk Manager (ORM) to engage with business areas to encourage the prompt escalation of risk incidents, complete root cause analysis of the incidents and make recommendations for remediation of incidents. The ORM will manage the Ops Risk Incident Register and follow-up on incidents to ensure effective remediation of action points within due dates.

*Challenge and support business areas as they assess their risk and control profiles, utilizing Operational Risk management tools such as the Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) exercise and risk reviews.

*Collate, review and challenge management information related to Operational Risk from business areas with a focus on the identification of material issues/topics to be highlighted for escalation.

*Produce periodic Management Information for Risk Committees and other stakeholders. The ORM will also act as the designated Secretary of the one of the Risk Committees and produce minutes of the Committee's meetings.

*Develop and maintain relationships with colleagues in other business areas, particularly Business Managers, Internal Audit & Compliance.

*Facilitate periodic training and risk workshops on risk-based issues for staff in other business areas.

Experience & Qualifications

*Excellent understanding Operational Risk

*Proficient user of MS Excel and other MS Office applications

*Be an effective communicator who is able to work in a fast-paced environment.
