Senior Software Developer / Java Software Engineer (Java Mathematics OOP). City based trading firm is seeking a Senior Software Developer with strong core Java skills to create and maintain server side Java components which support a highly scalable mission critical real-time financial trading platform. You'll partner closely with Front Office users, with a particular focus on Pricing & Risk systems across multiple asset classes, gaining a good understanding of trade floor operations and priorities.

You will be based in an informal atmosphere in the City with a good work life balance (0900 to 1730 with flexibility), casual dress code, bright, funky offices and a peaceful work environment.

Requirements:

Strong core Java design and development skills

Thorough understanding of computing fundamentals, object orientated programming, threading, concurrency and distributed systems

Good knowledge of mathematics

Experience of designing developing large scale systems

Experience of writing automated tests

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong problem solving and analytical abilities

Ideally you will some experience with financial / trading systems although this could be any highly transactional system
