The remit of the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS) is far-reaching and deeply interesting. From addressing climate change issues and exploring environmentally-friendly energy sources to championing bold business initiatives and platforms, we are passionate about delivering consistently high-quality results that will benefit the British population. In order to fulfil our duties, we are reliant on our teams having access to high-performing digital systems and processes, and as such, we have recently invested in a modern cloud-based IT system. This technology has the scope to elevate our capabilities exponentially - and you will be central to helping us make the most of this exciting moment in time.

Contributing directly to how business analysis as a discipline is engaging with our customers, you will be at the heart of our business improvement programmes. Taking a clear leadership role across a wide variety of change initiatives, you will help us provide value to our customers as you tackle both major change programmes and smaller projects. Specifically, you will help us transform our ways of working with your unbiased critical analyses. Identifying, quantifying and planning business analysis activities, you will ensure our outcomes and deliverables have been succinctly aligned with the business strategy and architecture. As a trusted advisor, your suggestions will shape our digital capabilities both now and in the long-term future.

This is a great opportunity to not only build our digital services, but to build the business analysis function within BEIS. You will therefore excel in this role if you are a proactive problem solver who can think on your feet. With significant business analysis expertise, you will enjoy mentoring and influencing the team to achieve the best possible results. As such, you will have exceptional communication, influencing and leadership skills, and you will be comfortable making decisions under pressure. Working closely with service users, you will translate their needs and propose creative design approaches, and you will act as the bridge between stakeholders (such as customers and suppliers), ensuring mutually beneficial solutions are being developed. With experience in championing business improvements, you will adopt agile methodologies at all times.

This is a valuable opportunity to explore your strengths in a team which is committed to constantly evolving to be the best they possibly can be. As a relatively new team, there is the chance to network extensively and establish yourself as a visionary leader. If you would like to be part of this exciting process, then we would be delighted to receive your application.
