Whether generating business initiatives or exploring clean energy solutions, the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS) is central to the wellbeing and economic security of the entire nation. Our work is highly varied, presenting us with a broad spectrum of fascinating challenges. We work both reactively and proactively, and as such, we rely on the skills of our ambitious and friendly team to generate exceptional results for the British population. And when you join us, you could play an integral part in our future capabilities.

The BEIS Digital team is at the heart of a wide array of business and energy initiatives. Our success is dependent on collaborative and innovative team-work, and access to the most cutting-edge thinking. As such, we are currently going through a crucial period of change as we have recently invested in a progressive G-cloud technology platform. This will provide the latest software to staff and help them achieve their aims, but we have yet to explore the full potential of this platform. You will be instrumental in making the most of this technology, working with a broad range of customers to help them understand what sort of solutions they need and why they need them. Helping us transform the way we work and the services we offer, your business analyses will be called on at every stage of the change process. Using your skills to get to grips with complex problems and shape the most appropriate actions from the offset, you will be a trusted advisor to the business. Crucially, your capacity to define solutions that put the user at the heart of every decision will make you an integral part of this fast-paced team.

With the freedom to develop and innovate, you will find plenty of support in this interesting role. You will need great people skills, including the capacity to influence and negotiate with stakeholders, and to define real world situations that will help colleagues visualise existing, conceptual and proposed scenarios.  With great business analysis skills (and adept in the associated tools and techniques), you will use your knowledge of agile methodologies to help us drive business improvements. Capable of seeing the bigger picture and working in partnership to drive change and improvements, it would be helpful if you have an understanding of business enterprise or architecture.

This is a dual-pronged role, as while you will be helping us build our digital capabilities, you will also play an integral part in building our business analysis function. There is the capacity to embed yourself in the heart of our processes, and develop your skills along the way. With plenty of training and career progression opportunities, plus the scope to network extensively across the team, this role will put your career on the right path for a truly great future.
