The Data Architect will join and work with the Enterprise Architecture team comprised of architects covering other domains and reporting to the Enterprise Architecture Manager. This role will provide strong technical and data standards leadership. Key responsibilities: Establishing, maintaining and communicating a clear view of AJ Bell's current data landscape in formats suitable for different target audiences Developing and continuously refining AJ Bell's target data architecture to meet the future needs of AJ Bell Building and maintaining a roadmap to achieve AJ Bell's target data architecture which balances short-term tactical and strategic choices Providing expert-level advice to all areas of AJ Bell to support and challenge current and future approaches to data Providing technical expertise on data to Data professionals, DBAs, Infrastructure Engineers and developers Mentoring and coaching fellow Technology Services team members to improve data-related expertise What we're looking for from you: 6+ years of experience in technical data-focussed roles, preferably in a Financial Services or e-commerce environment Technology visionary with the ability to quickly learn, understand and communicate the strengths and weaknesses of new technologies and methods Data solution design experience covering relational databases, NoSQL databases and ETL routines across heterogeneous data stores Experience using reporting and data analytics tools Excellent communication and documentation skills, including the ability to communicate at all levels in a fashion that non-technical people can understand Planning, organisation and time management skills Problem solving skills Educated to degree level (or equivalent) Desirable skills and experience you can also bring: Good knowledge of TOGAF and ArchiMate or other similar recognised EA frameworks is preferred Good knowledge of data management and data lifecycle best practices Data solution design experience covering, big data, streaming data, data analytics and complex data migrations Other Information: In return we will provide all the training and support you need in order to develop within your role.
