* Chartered Engineer is desirable.

* Security clearance will be required (UK National) security clearance at Security Cleared Role DescriptionWe are looking for someone to join our team of highly technical multi-disciplined and enthusiastic engineers and project managers and be initially responsible for the successful delivery of integration and test activities for the Raasay CS project.

This role offers the opportunity to get involved and help deliver the solution, across the whole lifecycle from feasibility to acceptance with challenging and unique engineering projects. Some travel is involved; which will include Range visits and multi (UK) site working and collaboration with partner teams and companies.

This specific project includes procured, developed and combination subsystems in the following domains: Voice, Data & Video Communications, Networking, Radar, Underwater Tracking, Underwater communications, Acoustics, Meteorological systems, recording equipment, Publish-Subscribe systems, Thin Client deployments, Marine Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Security, Safety and Human Factors.

The delivered equipment will be operational in the North West of Scotland and therefore an aspect of the role will involve travel to support site-based testing and use of a reference system at Farnborough.

Specific responsibilities and challenges:* Adhering to the plans prepared by the Lead Engineer and providing suggested improvements;

* Working within the Test team to produce the necessary sub-ordinate plans;

* Preparing System and Software scripts to provide simulation data to assist with the V&V activities- both within the development and V&V teams;

* Delivery of the integration and test activities to schedule and cost;

* Coordination with development and management teams;

* Generation of test strategies plans and specifications to satisfy requirement VM & VC;

* Managing DOORS to reflect traceability and status as directed by the Lead Engineer;

* Execution of system / sub-system / acceptance tests;

* Recording of system Problem Reports; Re-test and verification of system Problem Reports;

* Production of test artefacts;

* Support of Acceptance Working Group by the production of evidence, stats, and status information;

* Carrying out TRRs and other reviews as required by the Lead Engineer;

* Generation of Test Reports for system/sub-system testing phases;

* Preparing plans and liaising with asset organizations such as surface vessels & target simulators for in-water testing;

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required

* Experience of systems integration;

* Domain knowledge desirable;

* Working knowledge of national or internationally recognized Systems Engineering processes such as BS ISO IEC 15288:2002;

* Working knowledge of SE tools such as DOORS, StarTeam, Enterprise Architect;

* Competent in the use of Microsoft Office, SharePoint & associated software suite & IT.

* Experience in testing in a software intensive environment

* Experience in performing V&V testing of wider systems (not necessarily software)

* Experience of analysing requirements and designing test cases to verify the requirements

* Expanding test cases to create detailed steps in test procedures.

* Experience writing and amending test scripts/procedures

* Experience testing interfaces, including creating/amending test scripts/procedures

* Experience Running tests

* Being able to follow detailed test steps and capture observations

* Familiar with reporting problems/raising problem reports

* Stress testing, exception testing

* Integration testing experience

* System Testing experience
