This university is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Technology Development Leader to lead a dynamic and distributed team charged with the innovation, assessment and development of end-user focused software and IT/AV hardware. This is an exciting but demanding role which will see you working and collaborating across the institution and engaging with a variety of stakeholders at all levels. Both influencing and enabling technology change you will be working to deliver IT strategy and supporting digital transformation across the university. The role is part of a wider Technology Services area and will work closely with the Cloud and Infrastructure Leader (development and support of their infrastructure), the Technology Delivery Leader (supporting all end-user IT and AV devices) and the IT Project Manager. You will have strong people and leadership skills build your team, work with colleagues across the Service and the wider university as well as external partners and suppliers. You will embrace change and understand how to manage the delivery of it across your team. You will have experience of leading people, using formal project management techniques, waterfall or agile, and working with suppliers, ideally including formal tendering and contract management. Information Services Information Services covers the complete range of information-related functions: from IT infrastructure, through computers, tablets, phones and audio-visual equipment to information systems and desktop software, formal & informal study spaces, print and electronic learning resources - and advice on how to use them - academic and digital skills and supporting the research of students and staff. They provide strategic leadership for IT, library and learning resources and work collaboratively with academic institutes, professional services and students to advise on opportunities and good practice and to ensure they provide the best possible support for their needs.
