Start ASAP My client is looking to bring onboard an experienced developer with strong knowledge and understanding of BigCommerce as they embark upon a crucial period, modernising a number of business systems. We are looking for a web developer with significant BigCommerce experience who can take on distinct pieces of work to customise the out-of-the-box solution.This upgrade will be inclusive of; Enterprise Resource Planning system, Warehouse Management System and Ecommerce platform.The current development platform is a highly customised version of an open source ecommerce system written in PHP and this new role will be key to the success of the third element of this modernisation plan; the migration to a new ecommerce platform.Examples of some of the current challenges that require solution are;Re-engineering the colour facetDisplaying either Gross and Net prices dependant on customer preference and account typeApplying correct taxation and price lists dependant on account type and geographic locationEnsure that each language variant of the site uses the correct HREFLANG tags for all the other language variants of the site.Additional work would include, but not limited to;Multi-language support.Analytics tracking and analysis.Refining and optimising search.SEO - correct handling of all existing redirects, product URLs, structured data etc.Google shopping feed - we have optimised our current feed in a number of ways which will also need applying to the BigCommerce feed.Use of ShipperHQ for shipping service configuration.Working with Patchworks as the middleware for integration with the ERP system NetSuite. From a business perspective, the successful developer will be expected to;Be responsible for all phases of the software lifecycle.Take ownership of solutions from inception, through to delivery and maintenance.Effectively manage own time between ongoing tasks.Design and develop high quality, well-documented and comprehensible code.Adhere to development policies and standards.Communicate to a high standard, both written and verbally.Coach and assist development team mates with regard to BigCommerce technology.Work with both technical and non-technical teams.Work independently and within a team.Use own initiative to solve problems.Proactively initiate and drive process improvements.Report progress and flag issues in a timely manner.
