Instructional Designer-INSIDE IR35-£213 Per Day- 6 Month ContractOur client based in London are recruiting for an Instructional Designer. The successful applicant will be required to use knowledge of tested instructional design theories, practice and methods to support pedagogic transformation of modules delivered 'on-campus' using the Design Process Flow (DPF) method.-Collaborate with Academic Staff/Teaching Fellows to provide pedagogic advice, guidance & encouragement, and to support delivery of modules that incorporate active, online and blended design approaches.

-Formulate designs and storyboards with clear narratives for Digital content which include learning and assessment activities/ content in a variety of media (audio, video, simulations, webpages).

-Active learning strategies in face to face teaching activities, developing assessment instruments and methods to support this.

-Operate within the established design processes and systems, taking ownership for all allocated stages whilst ensuring integrity, reliability and consistency.

-Ensuring and monitoring/reviewing that redesigned modules provide an engaging and compelling learning experience using instructional graphics, web content and/or media that is in line with the modules' intended learning outcomes.

-Produce clear and concise documentation that guides the module development process for colleagues across our clients team to agreed timelines and quality levels.

-Review final content with the intentions identified in the storyboard/scripts/raw material, to ensure consistency and alignment with the learning design approach and templates, identifying areas for process improvement.

-Regularly (in conjunction with colleagues from the EdTech Team/Digital Learning Hub) evaluate, review and adapt approaches and processes used for Instructional Design and content development, sourcing efficient and effective processes.

-Assist in the review and evaluation of the effectiveness of instructional media and pedagogies across the Team's portfolio in collaboration with the Senior Learning Technologist (Insight and Evaluation) and colleagues in other faculties and Digital Learning Hub. -Champion innovation in learning design through applying a variety of analytical techniques to learn from and improve upon current practice.

-Experience as an instructional designer with proficiency in live (ILT, Virtual) and asynchronous (eLearning) instructional design modalities.

-Experience of working with academic and teaching staff to design, develop eLearning resources and technology. This should include delivering workshops to academic/teaching staff on design/development of eLearning resources and technologies.

-Experience of working within a higher education institution.

-Specialist knowledge of sound pedagogy-based teaching and assessment methods and techniques in STEM disciplines in higher education, preferably in the general engineering area.

-Knowledge of the evidence base relating to teaching and assessment methods and techniques generally and within specific STEM disciplines.

-Excellent writing skills, with the ability to convert technical or complex information into easily used and understandable text and illustrations.

-Excellent time management skills, the ability to multi-task and prioritise own work.

-Skilled in the use of different forms of media technology.

-Creative mind and storytelling skills.
