My client who is based in Ipswich is looking for a UI Designer to be based in Ipswich on an initial 6 month contract.

Responsibilities of role

oWork as part of a development team to deliver delightful digital user experiences to customers and employees for customer facing and internal products and services.

oYou will take ownership of creating and delivering detailed designs into an agile sprint development environment for either products/services as a whole or components within a larger development.

*Essential Skills

oExcellent understanding of user-centred design principles and practices including an appreciation of the attention to detail of the impact to the wider e2e experience of the product or service under design

oExpert knowledge of UX design tools such as Axure

oProficient knowledge of responsive design and accessibility

oDemonstrable experience of wireframing, prototyping and usability research

oUnderstanding of Agile and sprint based development

oWork collaboratively with front end/back end developers, product owners and the wider development/digital team to deliver the best possible customer experience.

oAbility to balance user needs with technical and business requirements. You should be able to look for innovative ways to satisfy constraints

oStrong communication skills to understand and challenge requirements, constraints and business/user needs as well as communicate designs and influence decision making

*Desirable Skills

oStrong understanding of design including layout, typography and colour with an eye for detail

oKnowledge of Sketch, InVision and other UI prototyping and delivery tools

oExperience working on telecommunication related products and services

oExperience working on complex, Enterprise level products and service developments with multiple user type

*Qualifications

oDegree in design related field

oMust have 2+ years proven experience working as an interaction and user interface designer (or similar role)
