Senior Software Asset Manager

Would you like to play a key role in in managing licenses of software and audit of these software programmes over the whole of BAE Systems? We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Software Asset Manager at our site in Farnborough.

As a Senior Software Asset Manager, you will be responsible for managing the software asset management (SAM) team. The Senior Software Asset Manager will be responsible for maturing the SAM capability through developing and implementing a strong SAM framework and solution, implementing robust end to end processes, and ensuring continuous improvement

This role will provide you with the opportunity to develop and own the capability, work with senior stakeholders throughout the whole of BAE Systems and give you wider exposure into the senior leadership team.

Your main responsibilities as a Senior Software Asset Manager will involve:

Providing leadership of the software asset management team to ensure the daily and strategic activities are planned and completed within agreed timelines.

Reviewing, maturing and continually improving the SAM (software asset management) capability

Leading through experience and engaging at senior levels of the Business

Working with different functions and various stakeholders to ensure the end to end process of software management is implemented

Conducting CSI reviews in relation to Software Asset Management optimising software spend for software licences by identifying opportunities to exploit better options of licensing arrangements (e.g. license re-harvesting/license transfers/intelligent renewals etc.).

Responsible for the development and presentation of business cases in relation to the SAM end to end service and ensuring delivery of approved changes through to benefits realisation.

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential:

Educated to Degree level or equivalent

Qualification in Software Asset Management (Ideally a CSAM Qualification)

Experience of working in large-scale organisations which complex software deployment and the complexities of obsolescence as a subject matter expert.

Excellent knowledge of software licensing and renewal models

In-depth knowledge of enterprise software licensing and optimisation of these licenses

Excellent knowledge of IT Asset Management (ITAM)

Knowledge of ITIL best practices for Service Delivery

You will have great time management skills with the ability to delegate workload to teams with proven experience managing others. You will have good stakeholder management skills with the ability to work with senior leadership teams and others outside of BAE, you will be able to influence others and have the willingness to be hands on when required. You will also be able to build, motivate and mature your own team supporting them with good management skills.
