Technical Delivery Manager - Finance and Insurance SoftwareSenior Management position leading the Product Team of Business Systems Analysts, Testers, QA, Development teams (on & off-shore) to delivery quality software products against timelines in a forward-thinking, agile, innovative, growing FS business based in Central BirminghamClient DetailsInnovative, Agile, Forward-thinking FS business based in Central BirminghamTechnical Delivery Manager - Finance and Insurance SoftwareDescriptionManage Agile software development team(s) to deliver quality software and to maintain past and future solutions utilising agile software development best practicesOversee Agile ceremonies and work with Developers, QA analysts, Business Systems analysts and Data Integrators to clarify and refine user storiesCollaborate with digital product managers, stakeholders, other departments and customers in specifying the development roadmap and in understanding business needsPlan and direct the work of the development team focusing on performance tuning, refactoring, usability, automation and continuous integration and deploymentServe as the solution architect for the team maintaining coding, compliance and security standardsParticipate in the technical design, development and delivery of new features and in the resolution of critical software related issuesWrite, review and optimise code across the full stack; front end Web UI, middle tier service layer and back-endPrepare and maintain project and resource schedules. Monitor and assess progress of projects according to schedule, cost estimates and guidelines.Coordinate the efforts of third-party and outsourced software development vendorsReview and approve specifications, designs and other technical documentation prepared by the teamEnsure adherence to standard governance, operational guidelines and production support SLA'sManage and mentor staff to accomplish results through effective recruitment, selection, training, development, performance management and recognitionProfileBroad expertise in theoretical and practical application of highly s software engineering best practices, methods and techniquesExperience with Agile software development processes as development manager or as a Scrum MasterT- shaped skill set. In depth knowledge and experience in developing software applications on a specific software platform or technology and broad knowledge of related technologies.Scalable, high-availability back end technologies primarily SQL ServerStrong understanding of server-side software, scalability, performance, and reliabilityExtensive knowledge of source code change managementUnderstanding of continuous delivery tools like Puppet, Chef and SaltUnderstanding of continuous integration and deployment tools like Octopus Deploy and JenkinsExcellent interpersonal and communication skills.
