Senior Software Engineer / Developer (Linux Yocto BitBake OpenEmbedded C++). Would you like to work on complex and interesting systems that provide daily challenges; collaborate with a friendly and upbeat team and improve your skills whilst enjoying a good work / life balance?

You could be joining a hugely successful Cambridge based technology company that provides intelligent printing solutions for a range of industries. As a Senior Software Engineer you will take ownership of the design and implementation of well tested C++ code, working on the core product. You'll focus on Linux Operating Systems utilising Yocto, BitBake recipes and OpenEmbedded and program with multi-threaded C++. You will operate across the full development lifecycle from analysing requirements, concept proposals and top level design through to development and delivery, assisting with problem resolution as and when required.

As a senior member of the team you will also provide technical leadership and mentoring to more junior team members in a collaborative team environment.

You'll be based in Cambridge with onsite parking and bus links available; core hours will be 1000 - 1500 and you can enjoy a number of perks including an on-site subsidised restaurant, company bonus and one hour a week innovation time to work on your own projects.

Requirements:

Experience of Linux Operating Systems (preferably with experience of Yocto, BitBake recipes and OpenEmbedded)

Experience of working with Board Support Packages and Hardware bring up

C++ programming skills, OOP, RAII, multithreading, mutual exclusion, abstraction mechanisms

Technical leadership / project ownership experience

Working knowledge of STL, version control, modern IDEs, networking

Understanding of software design techniques

Knowledge of testing methodologies, debug techniques and experience with debugging tools

Collaborative with good communication skills
