Job Title: Senior Production ManagerLocation: Westhoughton, BoltonSalary: £37k -£42k depending on experienceJob type: Permanent, Full time (40 hours per week)The Company is a well-established Bolton based industrial door company. With sites in the Midlands, North-East and Scotland and over 60 teams of mobile engineers they install, service, repair and maintain all types of industrial doors, dock levellers, high speed doors, automatic doors, gates, barriers and turnstiles across the UK.The Role:Due to expansion, a new role has arisen for a Senior Production Manager. The role will initially focus on the day to day management of their production facility which manufactures dock equipment. A key priority will be the relocation from their existing premises in Horwich to new premises in Westhoughton.You will work closely with existing employees with responsibility for production operations to oversee all production across the group. Responsibilities will include:Controlling and co-ordinating production within designated product rangesProviding leadership and direction to promote continuous improvement and best practice to achieve production targets, savings and improved efficienciesEnsuring staff are trained to ensure competenceRecruiting of staff for department (with assistance from HR)Ensuring standard operating procedures are introduced and maintainedEnsuring equipment is kept in good order and maintained when requiredBeing responsible for and promoting health and safety, environmental and quality matters within productionProducing reports for the Directors on a monthly basis and attending management meetings as necessaryIt is anticipated that the successful candidate will be involved in evaluating the potential of manufacturing other products, and the viability of utilising their other premises for small scale production. Where there is deemed to be potential in doing so, the successful candidate will play a key role in the setting up of such manufacturing facilities.The Candidate:Applicants must have proven experience within a production environment, ideally qualified to HNC/HND/Degree level in Mechanical Engineering or similar. As an experienced manager, the successful candidate must be able to communicate effectively at all levels, remain calm and able to work under pressure and be self-motivated with the ability to motivate others. They must possess good organisational skills with the ability to take initiative and work to deadlines.
