At ScottishPower we see how IT and digital influences every aspect of our business - it's an enabler at a technology and a society level. We use a surprising breadth and variety of technologies here, with a serious investment in our people and in our capabilities to help shape our direction and growth. And with our commitment to now produce all of our energy from renewable resources, our opportunities to innovate are only just beginning.

ScottishPower is part of the Iberdrola Group, one of the world's largest integrated utility companies and a world leader in wind energy. ScottishPower is the first integrated energy company in the UK to generate 100% green electricity. Our focus is on wind energy, smart grids and driving the change to a cleaner, electric future and we're investing over £4m every working day to make this happen. We're committed to speeding up the transition to cleaner electric transport, improving air quality and, over time, driving down bills.

Purpose

We're now embarking on a major IT Transformation project to drive change throughout our businesses.

Our focus is on wind energy and smart grids, working to deliver for our customers, colleagues and our business, and as part of the Iberdrola Group, working towards a green future. You'll provide the security consultancy and design services to ensure that Security is built into all of our IT solutions right from the start - bringing subject matter expertise into product selection and direction for UK IT, co-ordinating with the Iberdrola Group's Global IT Security team.

Responsibilities

As an IT Security Lead, you will analyse technical solutions and establish pragmatic strategies for delivering and enhancing appropriate security controls.  You will combine an assessment of emerging threats and risks with an understanding of business requirements to ensure that UK IT Innovation initiatives are enabled through innovative security techniques. It's a constantly evolving role, so you'll also be a great communicator, able to explain complex risks in non-technical language so that these are readily understood at all levels.

Skills and Requirements

You'll combine an ability to analyse technical architectures and designs with an in-depth specialist knowledge of IT Security and IT Security Management.  You will have relevant industry qualifications such as CISSP or CISM, with significant experience of managing IT Security Risk in a large scale IT and Digital intensive business.

You'll have the ability to develop tailored security risk mitigation strategies, taking into account Business objectives and risk appetites.

You'll work on both our UK IT and Group projects, so experience in a global team would be beneficial, as would be a working knowledge of Spanish.

It's a great opportunity to become a key member of an expanding team working on protection for colleagues, customers, and businesses.
