AIX Engineer
Location (Telford)
We are looking for an experienced AIX Engineer to provide operating system support and maintenance for virtualised AIX based systems. This role sits within a team that is responsible for the Live Service Delivery of all aspects of the core infrastructure managed by our Client. The team support Production, Disaster Recovery, Live Acceptance Proving, Test and Development services on a 24/7 basis.
The role sits within a team of experienced engineers providing 24 x 7 support of the infrastructure for our prestigious customer. The role is focused on providing perfect server availability and incident resolution plus dynamic change and project development of new systems.
Working with the latest versions of AIX virtualization, you will be required to provide operating system support and maintenance. You will require an excellent working knowledge of the operating system, virtualization plus the ability to produce UNIX scripts and knowledge of Cloud computing principles to support the team's aims to manage, monitor and maintain our services and particularly our cloud service offerings.
Core Skills
* Proven experience in an AIX support role preferably at 2nd line level
* Significant knowledge of AIX infrastructure & virtualization
* UNIX scripting skills
* Proven ability to problem solve
* Ability to work independently
