Job Title: Business Application Support Analyst

The Enterprise Business Application Analyst will work directly with the Team Lead, EBAS, to support the bank's business applications. Fulfilling the requirements for this role involves developing, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing key functional areas, particularly supporting the core banking application (BASIS) along with all other back-end and customer facing business applications that support the bank's Information Technology operations and service delivery. The role will require a mix of technical and business skills as role will involve tasks such as testing and applying patches to an IIS based application or working with users to document a change specification for an existing or new business application.

The role will also involve attending and resolving application software issues and incidents within an accurate and timely manner.

The Role:

  • Support all business applications in the bank.
  • Support the Team Lead, Enterprise Business Application Support to administer and support (1st and 2nd level) the bank's implementation of (BASIS) and the underlying Oracle Database and WebLogic Application Server.
  • Resolve IT application-related incidents, service requests and problems in a timely and efficient manner in line with Business requirements. The main business applications in use at the bank are:
    • Core Banking Application (ICSFS BANKS®) and related payment systems (SWIFT).
    • Internet Banking platforms
    • Enterprise Content and Workflow Management system
    • Data Warehouse and Reporting system
  • Requirement gathering and specification for new or existing business requirements.
  • Testing and implementing application patches in line with the bank's change management policy.
  • Provide application documentation for support desk.
  • Coordinate the work of suppliers, contractors and colleagues during the development, testing and implementation of new or upgraded business modules or solutions.
  • Identify project related risks and escalate project issues in a timely manner.
  • Support other activities of the unit/department and tasks as assigned by Team Lead, Enterprise Business Application Support.

The Candidate:

  • Basic understanding of retail banking operations/process and UK payments landscape.
  • Oracle SQL / TSQL.
  • Basic Linux/Unix Administration.
  • Service Management (ITIL).
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office productivity suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project.
