IT Security Operations Manager

My client, a large internationally recognised organisation is looking for a passionate IT Security Operations Manager to join their growing team at their head office in South Birmingham.

The IT Security Operations Manager performs two core functions for the organisation. The first is overseeing the operations of the enterprise security solutions through management of the organisation's security analysts. The second is establishing an enterprise security stance through policy, architecture and training processes.

Key Responsibilities:

*Interface with peers in the Systems and Network departments as well as with the leaders of the business units to share the corporate security vision.

*Engage with Divisions and Business Units as necessary, to provide the support and advice required to align business operations with group policies and industry good practice.

*Execute on the Security Incident Management Framework to support enterprise related problems and issues as identified through both external and internal forces.

*Directs activities, utilising the appropriate resources and vendors to achieve timely response to critical issues that impact the enterprise.

*Participates in applicable problem and change forums providing security expertise ensuring the immediate restoration of service.

*Enable the business to facilitate and manage potential or real incidents that may result in the activation of Business Continuity plans.

*Provide strategic, tactical and operational support utilising agreed upon escalation procedures.

*Helps to lead and participate in incident forums to address security issues or directions ensuring the approach selected is supportable and will meet or exceed service level commitments.

*Help manage day to day support for Incident & Response Management function to ensure effective and efficient management of events and investigations.

*Proactively integrate appropriate solutions into action and determine proactive measures to mitigate future risk and improve on response effectiveness.

*Help maintain effective Incident Management guidelines to ensure all processes are clearly articulated and communicated.

Key Skills and Experience required:

*Extensive previous experience in a Security Incident Management position.

*In-depth expertise in information security practices, advanced understanding of risk assessment principals, operations and leadership.

*Technology operation involving managing high-performance incident investigations, response teams, security intelligence, analytics, and threat mitigation, within a large global financial institution.

*Technical knowledge and understanding of security engineering and development, threat modelling, attack methods and exploitation of vulnerabilities

*Wide knowledge base covering Information Security, Information Management, IT processes, and Risk Management.

*In-depth expertise in IT service management including prioritisation and planning to ensure continuous service improvement.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well established a highly reputable organisation during an exciting period of change. The salary is £50,000 - £55,000 plus a comprehensive benefits package including; car allowance, up to 10% bonus, health care and generous pension scheme to name a few.
