My client in Cambridge are seeking a FPGA/ASIC Design Engineer to come in and start on an initial 6 months contract.I am looking for a FPGA Design Engineer to design and develop FPGAs and digital modules providing cryptographic and cyber security solutions. The goal is to create optimized hardware and software systems to work with quantum circuits. Key Responsibility Areas:

* Design, implement and integrate FPGA from requirements to production and

commercial deployment

* Work with the embedded software team to ensure high quality functionality

* Review code and design

* Analyse and enhance efficiency, stability and scalability of system resources

* Integrate and validate new product designs

* Support software QA and optimize I/O performance

* Assess third party and open source software Skills and knowledge

* Proven work experience in FPGA design

* Strong Verilog or VHDL coding skills

* Experience of developing on Xilinx FPGAs

* Experience of ARM System On Chip

* An appreciation of other engineering disciplines; Software, Digital and Analogue

Electronics

* Familiarity with digital communications protocols and general networking

experience

* Ability to effectively research and solve complex technical issues

* Experience of designing for security

* Working knowledge of the following engineering tools; Vivado, Xilinx SDK

* Experience in hands-on development and troubleshooting on embedded targets
