My clients, a global leader in the manufacturing industry are looking to add a Senior Software Developer to their growing development team. The successful candidate will be participating in all aspects of the software development life cycle such as estimating, technical design, implementation, testing, documenting, deployment and support of any applications designed for customers. The role will involve liaising with other members of the strong team including the engineers and Senior Management.

The role is located in Blanchardstown, Co. Dublin so there is easy access from the M50 and the N3. The companies staff tend to come from all over Dublin and the surrounding areas as there is flexible working hours and remote working can be possible a couple of days a week.

Right now the company are about to undergo a massive project that will put the brand name in lights across the globe! Meaning you will be going straight in to hit the ground running and contribute straight away. This is why they are looking for someone who would be comfortable in a Senior role.

Ideally, as a Senior Software Developer you will be comfortable working across a stack of ASP.NET MVC, C#, Microsoft .NET, Azure, SQL Server, Web APIs, Visual Studio, JavaScript, HTML, CSS and Web Services. There will be a major emphasis on creating and writing well written APIs and Microservices, creating an API strategy for the company.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Provide thought leadership to efficiently implement reusable, maintainable and testable software while ensuring it meets functionality, scalability, security, and quality requirements
• Develop new API connections based on 3rd party specifications in a variety of environments
• Maintain and upgrade existing API connections when developed, in languages including C#, JSON, XML, SQL for MSSQL and Oracle
• Contribute to developing and maintaining design and coding standards, participate in technical discussions around CI/CD and DevOps functions
• Collaborate with the Engineering team, end users, operational leadership, and subject matter experts to understand current and future goals. Recommend modern technology stacks to meet those goals and help engineering teams migrate towards their use
• Prepare architectural and other technical documents for stakeholders and software developers supporting the initiative, including associated API related procedures

Skills & Qualifications:

• A relevant degree in Computer Science/Technology/IT is beneficial
• 5 years experience working in Software Development using Web APIs
• Excellent knowledge of C#, ASP.NET MVC and Web APIs
• Knowledge of Database technologies such as SQL Server or Oracle
• Experience with Cloud based platforms such as Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services
• Any experience with Front End Development technologies such as JavaScript, HTML or CSS
• Knowledge of Agile Methodologies
• Leadership/Mentoring experience is desirable but not a requirement
• Good communication skills - written and verbal - Fluent English
• Full right to work in Ireland - Irish Citizen/EU Citizen/ Stamp 4 Holder (Candidates not holding these will not be considered for the role)
