Systems Design Authority International Programmes

We have an exciting opportunity available within the Europe & International Business for an experienced architect to join the international programmes team, defining, delivering and sustaining IM&T solutions for international customers within the Air Sector. The role is based at our site in Warton or Samlesbury.

As a Systems Design Authority you will cover provision of a wide spectrum of solutions to support our platform (e.g. Typhoon and Hawk) training and services business activities across multiple engineering, manufacturing and sustainment applications, numerous stakeholders/departments and disciplines.

In return you will be working on varied high profile Projects working with end customers such as sovereign air-forces in different geographical locations around the world.

Your main responsibilities as a Systems Design Authority International Programmes will involve:

Support to the submission of IM&T Solutions for new business opportunities (Bids)

Provide technical leadership, authority and direction for the development of new, expansion of existing or replacement of obsolete IM&T Solutions for existing customers

Support the creation of technical estimates and costs for incorporation into wider customer proposals

Ensure business requirements are correctly translated into cost effective technical solutions in accordance with IM&T principles, practices and guidelines

Work with multidisciplinary teams (training, supply chain, engineering, maintenance etc) and the external customer to deliver successful outcomes

Your skills and qualifications a Systems Design Authority International Programmes:

Degree qualified or equivalent in Engineering, Information Systems or similar discipline

A recognised architectural qualification such as ToGAF and demonstrable experience in its practical use across the IM&T solution/product lifecycle

Knowledge of Microsoft packages such as, Word, Excel and PowerPoint and familiarity with topical Computer Aided Systems Engineering (CASE) tools used for architectural design

Experience in governing the design and delivering Information Systems solutions across the life cycle

The successful applicant will join an existing team to help carry out solution provision. The role would suit someone who is proactive, diligent, confident and a competent team player to carry out work to a high standard in a dynamic environment. The role is Warton Unit based but will involve bounded periods of international travel as appropriate and necessary to fulfil the role.
