Managing the IT Portfolio and delivering a range of business critical IT projects for an international freight business.Client DetailsEdinburgh based freight business with operations in 30 locations globally who are looking to add a IT Project & Portfolio Manager to their IT Leadership team based from their Edinburgh offices. DescriptionThe ITPPM will be responsible for end to end project lifecycle working with peers to define application portfolio strategies, business cases, budgets, etc.Work at all levels of Information Technology organisation to propose, present, and get approval for investments and new ideas/projectsManage programs and projects, supervising financials aspects, projects milestones and gates, execution, ensuring compliance to governance standards

Contribute to instill a culture of strong project management methodology adherence to deliver on what matters for the company

Maintains a portfolio of programs and projects and contributes to budget cycle planning and forecasting

Works closely with Technical Product Managers and other Technical resources who are performing formal and informal project management activities to ensure consistency of project execution methodology and visibility of work being undertaken

ProfileProven experience within IT Project Management working on medium to large scale projects

Deep knowledge of project management methodologies, including waterfall and agile

Fundamentals of Finance and understanding of investments KPIs, cost control and benefits calculation

Strong business analysis and problem problem-solving skills. Effectively manages risk and uncertainty for self and team

Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group

Project Management certifications in AgileScrum (PSM, CSM, ACP) or equivalent hands-on experienceGood grasp of technical conceptsEnsures understanding of issues and presents clear rationale. Able to speak to mutual needs and win-win solutions. Uses two-way communication to influence outcomes and ongoing resultsHistory of working with vendor resources, with experience of contract management and managing engagements to defined statements of work.
