Lockheed Martin works with the UK Government, developing solutions to national security risks working in partnership to deliver the UK's National Cyber Security Strategy. We have a new opportunity for an Applications Support Engineer to join our Cyber team based in the Gloucester / Cheltenham area. The role will be responsible for supporting issues with legacy Applications via telephone and with the customer. Taking ownership of reported customer issues and seeing problems through to resolution, you will be responsible for researching, diagnosing, troubleshooting and identifying solutions to resolve system issues.
Duties will include
Receiving tickets and fixing issues with software applications
Some involvement with software design for minor changes
Following standard procedures for proper escalation of unresolved issues to the appropriate internal teams.
Software Testing
We are looking for people who can demonstrate a proactive and innovative approach to solving problems and enjoy conversing directly with customers. The ideal candidate will need to demonstrate competence with several of the following programming languages / frameworks:
Java, JBoss, EJB, Spring, Hibernate, JavaScript, NodeJS, Docker, Ansible, Chef, Ruby, Python, Oracle, MongoDB.
Along with:
Strong OO design skills.
Familiarity with the Agile development methodology
Self-starter with the ability to work with limited supervision
High standard of ethics and personal accountability.
