Job Title: Health & Safety ManagerLocation: Park Royal, LondonSalary: £50,000 per annumJob Type: Full Time, PermanentEstablished in the UK since 2005, The Company has grown as an award-winning main contractor for external façade restoration using façade gommage®, the only system designed to professionally clean building façades without the need for scaffolding.They are the most comprehensive partner to help clean and restore your building facades as well as caring for your interior stonework. Their restoration teams work on professional façade restoration, masonry repairs and external building refurbishment, and their Specialist Stone Care division specialises in graffiti removal, the application of coatings and the stripping and re-polishing of all stone floors.They also survey the interior of buildings, advice on periodic floor cleaning and provide maintenance for all types of natural stone flooring. In addition to cleaning and restoring, they developed Aqua Fend®, which is a range of four exclusive products to protect buildings, pavements and floors against a multitude of unwanted contaminants.The Role:The role purpose is to help plan, support, coordinate and input into the health safety requirements for a wide variety of projects taking place on historic buildings in and around the Greater London area.The role will provide an oversight of contractors, various trade workers and their employees. Ensuring that all documentation is prepared ahead of project commencement and dealing with changes as and when they arise. Safeguarding, compliance and safety is at the very centre of this role.Key Requirements:Regularly review and update company risk assessments, safe operating procedures and safety statementScreen projects and project sites before work commences, identifying safety-related risksInspect active project sites to evaluate ongoing work conditions to guarantee complianceLiaise with external parties such as government-employed inspectors to evaluate the process of sitesIdentify areas of risk and develop measures to reduce and controlWork with senior management to create plans for emergency proceduresPromptly alert management of any significant incidents or accidentsMaintain safety related paperwork, including plant logs and safety training certificationsTrain company employees on safe work practices and emergency procedures and undertake health and safety inductionsDisseminating health and safety information and documents ensuring all is completed and compliantRepresent them in meetings with government bodies and other organisations on issues regarding workplace health and safetyInteract with licensed bodies for regular updates on legal regulations and program initiatives on workplace safety and environmental issuesWorking knowledge of Considerate constructors, CHAS and ISO9001Selecting and co-ordinating equipment, materials and contractors needed for health and safety complianceEnsuring that appropriate PPE is issued and used correctly by employeesEnsuring all enquiries are responded to in a timely manner and in line with corporate response timesEssential Requirements and Experience:Previous and evident experience of stone masonry, building cleaning systems and reparationSound working knowledge of lifting plant and machineryExceptional knowledge of COSHH, CDM, LOLER standards and regulationsExpertise in specific skilled trades/type of work such as painting, stone masonry, HGV drivers and façade/stone cleanersAbility to access heights via ladders, scaffolding and MEWPSCultivating strong working relations to resolve project conflicts and making decisions where necessaryGood organisational and recordkeeping abilities - the ability to maintain good records of all safety-related activitiesHigh level management and implementation skills, including an ability to manage multiple strands of activity simultaneouslyExcellent communication skills (both written and verbal), and the ability to communicate with a wide range of peopleHighly developed interpersonal skills, with ability to work proactively with people at all levelsWell-developed negotiation skills, in order to re-negotiate deadlines and resources without creating unacceptable riskAbility to work well under pressure in a methodical and organised mannerHigh level organisation skills with the ability to work independently and prioritise workload to meet fixed deadlinesCompany Benefits:Sales Bonus on top of a good basic salary21 days a year annual leaveBank holidays and Christmas closureCompany pension through Scottish WidowsPerkbox discount benefits systemPlease note that due to the nature of the role, no sponsorship or relocation packages will be available for this position so all candidates must be eligible to both live and work in the UK to be considered.Please click the APPLY button to send your CV and Cover Letter for this role.Strictly no recruitment agencies.Candidates with the experience or relevant job titles of; Facilities Manager, Health and Safety Manager, H&S Manager, Health and Safety Coordinator, Facilities Coordinator, Repairs Manager, Building Services Manager, Works Manager, Facilities Officer, Property Services Manager, Properties Manager, Properties Maintenance may also be considered for this role.
