Application support / HP-UX / Unix / SQL Server / SQL / 3rd line /

Experis IT are currently recruiting for a Solution Architect to join one of our key Multinational Construction & Support Services based in Solihull.

To provide 3rd line Support, Administration, Implementation and maintenance of the company's applications for approx. 2500 users.

Develop & maintain relationship with Project delivery, Information teams, Support teams & external parties. To ensure successful & smooth implementation/transition of I T projects & major system upgrades. Ensure integrity of live, development & testing environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engaging with All IT teams to produce effective & professional implementation of IT projects.
  • Facilitate & provide a point of contact and smooth the progress of the release process for IT Projects & key system upgrades.
  • Ensure that all allocated support calls are closed to the satisfaction of the end user and to a good level of quality.
  • Provide day to day Support of all Application Systems across HP-UX and Microsoft operating systems using SQL Server and Informix as relational databases.
  • Dealing with Application Support queries and issues that have been handed over by other support teams.
  • Take ownership and responsibility of an incident from start through to a successful resolution.
  • Adhering to departmental procedures for fault resolution.
  • Develop basic technical knowledge of each application within the company portfolio.
  • Develop specialised technical knowledge of nominated area.
  • Develop knowledgeable configuration & rollout of Environments.
  • Provide project support as and when identified.
  • Undertake administration activities, to include technical & non-technical documentation.
