Project Manager - Product Development (Retail, Food) - LONDON Project Manager - Product Development (Retail, Food) - LONDON The work location is in Paddington, LONDON and is a 3 months contract.The pay rate on offer is between £450 - £500 per day.The role is working for a well established, multi-national retailer and specialises in clothing, home and luxury product.RETAIL / FMCG EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. Food product development, NOT an IT role. Key accountabilities of the role include:Critical Path ManagementResponsible for governing the end to end central planning process to ensure all New product development (NPD) and Every Day product development (EPD) are launched in store on time for your clusterAccountable for defining a realistic critical path for each project with clear owners and timescalesTake ownership for key activities in the critical path process this includes diarising, managing and running relevant meetingsEnsure colleagues from our business and service providers adhere to the process to ensure all critical steps are delivered on time through effective meetings and communicationAccountable for tracking key milestones for each initiative and escalate issues quickly where requiredAccountable for ensuring each of the 5 stage gates are closed effectively and any risks are assessed and escalated where required.Identify and actively manage capacity constraints within the central planning processBuild strong relationships with all key stakeholders both internal and external to ensure effective communication and deliveryReportingCreate accurate weekly management information which provides visibility of progress, risks and issues to the cluster Leadership TeamAttend regular team governance meetings with the Head of Central Planning to identify any risks and issues for the overall Food GroupContinuous ImprovementContinually look for ways to continually improve the process to raise the target for the number of products delivered to stores on time launchTo continually improve the end to end process by analysing process adherence and capacity constraintsTo deliver a more agile process continually review opportunities to reduce the lead time required for the stages of the critical pathResponsible for delivering consistent ways of working across all ClustersMeasureAchieve the agreed target of products delivered on time for your clusterKey experienceProduct Development experience preferred (Retail, Food, FMCG)Project management qualification accompanied by job related experienceStrong communication and influencing skills with the ability to challengeAgile mindset, comfortable working in a fast paced, ever changing environmentExcellent stakeholder management skillsAble to think creatively and analytically to solve problems and drive valueHighly organised, tenacious and resilient self-starterAble to manage demanding timescales and work with competing priorities
