Based within the Data Quality & Control department of a major bank, in support of their Data Management Policy, the role of Data Support Manager is a key element in the control framework for the Retail Personal Accounts Domain, as part of a team of SMEs delivering core subject matter expertise to all aspects of Personal Account controls and data quality assessments. The role works closely with the Retail Domain Data Owner and Data Stewards via a customer-led approach to ensure that Primary Data in this domain is fit for purpose, understood, managed and exploitable.The role is responsible for the efficient management and delivery of the regulatory project initiative due to take effect. The focus will be on delivering a control model that will support the banks responsibilities for delivering any FCA regulatory changes. To build new controls and to increase the coverage of current controls. This is a high-profile role, representing DQ within the project. As a senior member of the Retail Domain Manager's team, this role will also be expected to support the current control framework for Banking Fees and Charges. Main Duties:The role has specific responsibility for:Exploring a VBA control model, understanding the current code and adapting it to work for any new requirements.Delivering complex data analysis on Personal AccountsDevelopment of end to end DQ controlsCreation of new controls to identify data quality related issuesLook to migrate existing controls into the Data Lake (Hadoop)Managing documentation of controls in an easy to follow formatManaging the delivery of monthly metrics and new dashboards for senior stakeholders.Managing data validations for Domain Owners, IT and incidents Key Requirements:Experience of VBA and SQL is a must.Strong people and management of task skillsTeam player.Self-starter with strong technical and analysis skills.Proven track record in analysing and interpreting large datasets using Excel, VBA, Access.Ability to learn technical assessment software to develop dashboards and efficient control outputs using Data Visualisation tools.Experience with organisational assessment and delivery with the ability to assess impacts and formulate resolution plans and oversee a team of implementers.Experience producing summaries of analytics.Experience in identifying of data gaps and delivering / managing solutions.Ability to translate analysis to IT for resolution and vice-versaAbility to provide recommendations and implement process/procedural changesExperience in managing and prioritising the delivery of data quality improvement initiativesConfident and practised written and verbal communicator, with strong stakeholder management skills.Good interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and influence to senior management level.
