Contract length - 6 months initialRate - £350 - £400 per dayLocation - Central ManchesterStart date - ASAP Project: My client are looking for an experienced self-starting and well-rounded infrastructure engineer to join an IT Readiness project cell to help progress the organisation in preparation for Disaster Recovery. The successful applicant will be working with a team who are responsible for creating service catalogues and service recovery plans to ensure that the IT arm of the organisation are equipped to deal with natural or human-induced network shortages or other disasters. You will be liaising with the business users to document requirements and work closely with BA's to help them understand the current processes and protocols. As the project moves on, you will be validating the service users with the plans, working with BA's and technicians to create schedules along with setting up and enacting test runs. You will be working closely with a small team and across the IT infrastructure to ensure that tools and procedures are in place to successfully recover any disasters. Essential experience with: Solid experience working within infrastructure as an engineerHyper-VMicrosoft network environmentsExperience with AWS + AzureExcellent documentation skillsStrong understanding of processes and protocolsAbility to successfully translate between technical and business users (E.g. BA'S/PM's) Nice to have's:Experience in the transport industry is advantageousDemonstrable will to add valueBe adaptable and flexibleExperience of working on Disaster Recovery before About you:The person we seek should have the skills above but just as important is the ability to be adaptable, have a can-do and pro-active attitude and communicate clearly with a variety of fellow employees and teams.
