Technical Calculations ManagerA leading Global Bank currently require a Technical Calculations Manager for an initial 6 month contract based in Bristol, paying up to £450 per day via PAYE.Qualifications Qualified or part qualified actuary Previous ExperienceIdeally previous remediation workKnowledge of investment products and banking productsVetting of calculations carried out by more junior colleaguesPositions of responsibility in terms of sign off of calculationsWriting user friendly calculation models with clear audit trails Job DescriptionInput in the creation and enhancement of Remediation Calculation Stances and approaches to be used to calculate redress for new projectsDrafting technical papers to be presented to senior stakeholders - a need to explain complex technical issues without jargonDevelop relationships with other departments working on the projects to ensure efficient and reliable working practicesResponsible for maintenance of existing Calculation models (including governance around the models eg specification)Developing new calculation models as requiredSample 2nd checking of calculationsFirst point of contact for dealing with technical queries raised by the Calcs Team Skills Excels at technical detailHigh accuracyClear communicator - explaining technical issues clearly and simplyAble to develop and train less experienced staffAble to appreciate conflicting needs and make suitable judgment calls Please do get in touch if you would like to discuss this opportunity further by submitting your most up to date CV in the first instance.
