IT Business Analyst

Contract: Permanent / full time

Location: Based in Scunthorpe

Salary: £30-35k pa + benefits

Reporting to: IT Project ManagerNisa is an award-winning group which helps independent retailers flourish in the retail market by distributing quality and competitive food at scale. Our ethos is to support communities around the UK, by helping independent retailers make a true difference to their local area.We are now looking for an IT Business Analyst. You will be responsible for undertaking a range of activities that supplement the overall operational effectiveness and excellence of IT project delivery. The Business Analyst will be the conduit between business stakeholders and the technical teams providing documentation and process that positively impacts operational effectiveness. They will track and analyze business trends and make appropriate recommendations that will positively impact project needs.Responsibilities

* Work independently with a multitude of stakeholders to define scope of a project under direction of the project sponsor & project manager.

* Elicit business requirements using appropriate techniques with project stakeholders, in order to establish prioritised requirements.

* Evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, deconstruct high-level information into low-level detail and distinguish user requests from the underlying needs.

* Work closely with key Stakeholders to build a successful business case for projects.

* Proactively communicate and collaborate with internal and external customers to ensure project needs are met in a timely manner.

* Drive and challenge business areas on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute their plans.

* Serve as the conduit between the customer community (internal and external customers) and the software development team through which requirements flow.

* Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyse tradeoffs between usability and performance needs.

* Develop requirements specifications according to standard templates, using natural language.

* Ensure project change is documented, evaluated & implemented in the correct manner within a project.

* Act as the go to contact for any questions & queries which arise from stakeholders throughout the project life cycle.Formal Education & Certification (Desirable)

* University Degree in appropriate subject

* Formal Qualification in Business AnalysisKnowledge & Experience

* Considerable experience in Business Analysis using both Waterfall & Agile methodologies.

* Experience of working in a Project Management Office.

* Support to multiple successful project deliveries.

* Understanding of technical and business requirements, tools, people and processes necessary to create successful business cases.

* Experience working in a partner driven organisation with a strong ability to advocate for partners / end user needs.

* Knowledge and experience of successful change management.Personal Attributes

* Strong analytical and product management skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.

* Sitting for extended periods of time, working with computers.

* Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and to handle other computer components.

* Lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as laptops and peripherals.

* Physically able to participate in training sessions, presentations, and meetings.
