Role Overview

To support the Engineering Team, the Contractor shall provide Network Engineering support. The support shall as a minimum include the following:

* Provide technical support the creation of Tender Documentation as articulated in the processes set out under SOR 4.0, including:

* Requirements documentation;

* Technical input to the Relevant contractual processes;

* Pre-Qualification and Tender Evaluation Criteria;

* providing technical responses to Clarification Questions; and

* Tender Evaluation and Moderation.

* Support the creation of the Deployable Battlefield Network Architecture by creating or updating relevant aspects of the Solution Design Pack, as required by the Lead Architect ensuring compliance with all relevant documentation and standards; and.

* Provide ad-hoc technical guidance on Network Engineering and support the creation of the MOD engineering capability within;

* Produce input into the weekly meeting slide pack; ad-hoc attendance at meetings, governance and assurance activities (at all levels);

* Support to other project team functions; and in their role the contractor shall provide knowledge transfer and upskilling sessions to the Authority's C1 Engineer.

In order for the Contractor to deliver the aforementioned support and outputs, the Authority believes the individual would require as a minimum the following skills and experience:

* Knowledge and experience of network instantiation in multiple form factors and capable of future growth with an open architecture;

* The design of secure networks;

* Knowledge and experience of innovative approaches to network design and meeting bespoke requirements;

* Knowledge and experience of making technical design decisions and communicating their logic in a persuasive manner to non-technical management; and

* Knowledge and experience of stakeholder engagement at senior levels; and knowledge and experience of managing change and development in requirements.

To support the Engineering Team, the Contractor shall provide Security Engineering support. The support shall as a minimum include the following:

* Provide technical support the creation of Tender Documentation as articulated in the processes set out under SOR 4.0, this shall include as a minimum:

* Requirements documentation;

* Relevant contractual processes;

* Pre-Qualification and Tender Evaluation Criteria;

* Providing technical responses to Clarification Questions; and

* Tender Evaluation and Moderation.

* Support the creation of the Deployable Battlefield Security Architecture by creating or updating relevant aspects of the Solution Design Pack, as required by the Lead Architect ensuring compliance with all relevant documentation and standards; and provide ad-hoc technical guidance on Security Engineering and support the creation of the MOD engineering capability within the team.

In order for the Contractor to deliver the aforementioned support and outputs, the Authority believes the individual would require as a minimum the following skills and experience:

* Knowledge and experience of military communications security;

* Knowledge and experience of working in multi-discipline teams to deliver successful projects;

* Good communication and inter-personal skills to enable them to lead on security issues through consensus;

* Knowledge and experience of cyber-security and developing secure software;

* Knowledge and experience of stakeholder management of Senior Crown Servants; and

* Knowledge and experience of briefing solutions in a simple and understandable manner.

In their role the Contractor shall conform to the Exit and Transitioning planning under Schedule 17.

Provision of Technology Readiness Support for the Project, including but not limited to:

* Creating, managing and maintaining the Technology Management Strategy (including updates as required by the Authority, minimum one review and update in this contract period);

* Create, manage and maintain the Technology Road Map as required by the Authority;

* Attendance at meetings, governance and assurance activities (at all levels),

* Support to tendering/ procurement activities (if required);

* Support to Review Note activities (if required);

* Support to other project team functions; and

* Upskill the Authority's personnel in relation to Technology Readiness and Technology Management activities.

* Provide a Monthly report detailing requirements activities conducted, deliverables produced.

To support the Falcon Sustain Engineering Team, the Contractor shall provide a Network Engineering SME with detailed knowledge of the Falcon System. The support shall include the following:

* Providing ad hoc technical guidance, on the existing Falcon Network design, behaviour and performance by assessing the impact of contractor proposed changes to the Falcon Network, including the likely impacts of crypto changes on network behaviour and performance;

* Supporting bid evaluation activities by providing assessment of likely capability impacts;

* Provide inputs to monthly reporting as necessary
