Great opportunity open for a Technical Author with experience of creating documentation in a technical discipline and experience with content management, to come on-board and work for a Global Market leading company, based in Leeds. This will be a permanent position with a competitive salary on offer as well as benefits.Key skills:Experience in creating documentation in technical discipline (preferably software)Experience with Microsoft Office or any other authoring toolsExperience with a content management system (file management, versioning, etc.)HTML / CSS knowledge (preferred but not must have)Knowledge of the DITA framework (preferred but not must have)Knowledge of basic project management and agile software development methodologiesGraphics capture basic editing knowledgeKey experience:Master's or Bachelor's in Technical Communications, Computer Science, Engineering, English, Journalism, Education, or TrainingProficient communication and presentation skills in EnglishProficient writing and editing skills Knowledge of technical communications standards (Microsoft Writing Styleguide, Chicago Manual of Style, DQTI, Simplified Technical English)Collaborates with team, managers and stakeholdersWorks well individually and meets deadlinesResponsibilities:Work as a member of the TechCom team and in close collaboration with the product teams to create high quality documentation supporting software applicationsApply technical communication skills to present information in a clear and concise styleReview and edit documentation to meet industry and company standards and guidelinesUse the content management system to create and review documentationCreate and manage publications for project deliverables as required
