The Data Centre Network Engineer Role:

Our Managed Services team are based from our offices in St Ives and our data centre facilities in Huntingdon and provides a focused range of hosted and cloud services through our extensive portfolio, specifically designed to help customers align their IT functions to their core business requirements.

You will be working as part of a fantastic hand-picked team, you'll deal with the day to day management of our Data Centre and wide area networks both internally and on behalf of our customer base.

Ensuring our customers network and devices are operating and performing within acceptable boundaries and remaining compliant against relevant legislation.

You will be third tier support for our service desk responding to customer incidents and managing our monitoring software to identify potential issues in a proactive manner to reduce potential customer-related incidents.

This means working logically to understand the issue at hand, and then either taking care of it yourself or escalating it to the appropriate supplier, delivering a high standard of customer service to all customers in the process.

This role is based at our Huntingdon site and the cover that we provide is between the hours of 8am and 23:00.

Data Centre Network Engineer Key Responsibilities:

+ Working within the adopted ITIL framework for incident management and associated escalation processes
+ Providing a senior point of technical assurance within the team
+ The implementation of large and small-scale project deliverables
+ Maintaining stable customer and internal services
+ Ensuring that technical knowledge and documentation is shared amongst the Managed Services team members
+ Sharing information on new issues and call type trends with team leaders, in order to improve IT strategy across the business

About You:

+ A minimum 5 years' experience in a similar field
+ Experience as a senior technical team member
+ Excellent spoken and written English with strong customer interaction skills and a good telephone manner
+ Data Centre Experience
+ Strong Cisco Nexus switch, router and ASA firewall hardware experience
+ A good understanding of networking protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP etc.)
+ A methodical troubleshooting approach
+ A strong attention to detail

Desired Technical Skills:

+ Cisco ACI experience
+ HP switches experience
+ Exposure to Meraki devices
+ Experience in a multi-tenant architecture
+ Public cloud service integration
+ Certificate Services
+ Understanding of Load Balancers

Role Info:

+ Location: Based at our office in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire.
+ Hours: Monday to Friday / shift pattern covering between the hours of 08.00 to 23.00 (37.5 hours per week) with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break per day
+ Salary: Up to £50,000 + Shift Allowance
+ Start Date: ASAP
