Job description/Person specification The demand for QinetiQ's services continues to grow, and we are looking to appoint a Senior or Principal Cyber Security Consultant to the team. You will be part of QinetiQ's Cyber and Intelligence Group (C&IG), which provides Penetration Testing, Security Health Checks, Applied Cryptography (Crypt-Key), Open Source Intelligence (OSINT), Intrusion Analysis and Security Architecture, as well as Cyber Security Consultancy.Our team provides National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC)-certified ‘Cyber Security Consultancy' services, including Risk Assessment, Review, Network and Computer Analysis, Digital Forensics, Information Audits and consultancy - to a range of Government, critical infrastructure and private sector clients.
As an experienced Cyber Security Consultant, you will manage engagement with our clients, helping to drive the growth of our consultancy business. This includes providing leadership and mentoring to more junior members of staff. You will on occasion find yourself leading multi-disciplinary teams, or teams comprising a cross-industry workforce, drawing from QinetiQ's impressive range of engineering, scientific and technology experts. You will need to manage these engagements skilfully, bringing innovation and a business-savvy approach to ensure the team continues to deliver the best possible outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
Identifying and closing new consultancy opportunities
Strategic input to projects
Leading experts from across the cyber security skills set to deliver a joined-up consultancy service.
The development and implementation of new compelling propositions, seizing on market opportunities, and being active within the broader cyber community,
Writing and supervising project proposals and bids
Quality Assurance of project deliverables, providing feedback, challenge and advice to QinetiQ's businesses
Building enduring partnerships with clients to improve their digital resilience
Our consultants are rewarded with a productive and restful work-life balance, and there is flexibility around office location, home working and working hours. Our main cyber security capability is based at Malvern, but we also have teams in Portsmouth and Farnborough.
The Fit:
We are interested in speaking with experienced Cyber Security professionals able to demonstrate considerable experience of winning, leading and delivering consultancy contracts. You will be expected to have a broad understanding of the issues and challenges facing our clients and be able to demonstrate how you will apply your expert knowledge to the latest developments in cyber security. You will build strong and trusted relationships with your clients using your technical expertise and credibility within the sector. You approach everything you do with energy, enthusiasm and commitment to making a difference.
You will be passionate about your own professional development and will already hold appropriate qualifications and certifications, such as CISSP, ISO 27001, CISM, CISA and/or Professional Memberships such as CIISec
Successful candidates will be expected to achieve SC clearance as a minimum.
