Job description/Person specification To lead and take full responsibility for the project delivery across the LTPA and QE Estate to ensure a high level of service delivery. Key accountabilities with the role include:1. Organise the Project, the project team and its delivery
2. Integrating the project team within the business and ensuring that a Health and Safety culture is embedded within the team
3. Develop junior Project Management competence
4. Define and maintain under review the overall aims and objectives of the Project, together with their relative priorities, and the overall scope of the Project
5. Defining and agreeing an appropriate budget, delivering the Project within this budget and managing and reporting progress against an agreed cost plan
6. Managing the activities of the external advisors, including the management of their appointments, via appointed Procurement Team Managers within QinetiQ
7. Management of project documentation to include Bids, proposals and third party documentation (configuration control);
8. Deploy appropriate risk management strategies and methods for controlling quality
Key Capabilities include:
Working knowledge of Planning Application and GPDO process
Working knowledge of sustainability and energy aspects of project delivery.
Detailed knowledge of Building Regulations
Detailed knowledge of JSP standards
Detailed knowledge of risk management processes and techniques
Working knowledge of environmental legislation and ecological regulation
Extensive experience of the Construction, Design Management (CDM) Regulations and must
have acted as client or similar role on a construction related project
A detailed range of knowledge of civil engineering, infrastructure and building works methods
Working knowledge of NEC contracts as well as JCT
Highly developed interpersonal skills with an ability to deal with executives at senior level and equivalent on a day to day basis and as well as excellent stakeholder management skills
Qualifications required include:
More than 5 years' experience of building teams to deliver construction project
Multi sector project delivery experience including defence
A professional qualification in the form of degree, accreditation (APM, Prince 2, CIOB ) or Chartered status
This role is a Fixed Term Contract until 31st March 2021.
