The role

This is a great opportunity to join the IT Department as a member of the Application Support team and contribute to the continuous improvement of IT service delivery. The team supports a variety of services

Your role would be to provide application support in line with IT standards and best practice to agree customer Service Level Agreements. You will ensure that systems are monitored and respond appropriately to any production system issues, liaising with third party suppliers where necessary.

The following essential requirements will need to be demonstrated:

?Substantial and up-to date knowledge and experience of configuration and integration with packaged or bespoke applications.

?Recent knowledge and experience of supporting third-party packaged and/or bespoke applications to agreed SLA's.

?Experience of software/data testing, troubleshooting and issue identification/resolution

?Excellent communicator and demonstrable ability to work as part of a team to agreed customer service levels

?Experience in working with Unix-based (preferably Linux) and/or Windows technologies, SQL, SQL Server and databases, XML, Apache and/or IIS webserver technologies

?Problem analysis and documentation skills

Although not essential it would also be highly advantageous to have some/all of the following skills;

?SQL database querying

?SCOM monitoring or similar technology

?Understanding of Metadata (XML files)

?Experience of message queuing systems (MSMQ/RabbitMQ or similar)

?Experience of webservers/web services (IIS/Tomcat servers/APIs or similar)

?Formal qualifications in IT or management

?Experience of web page design using HTML and CSS

This may be an ideal opportunity for someone wishing to develop their career in Application Support. Full training will be given on the use of the specific systems you will be required to support.
