Job purpose
A vacancy has arisen for the above position in our clients Commercial Department. The successful candidate will have responsibility for Trade Compliance activities for both Imports and Exports.

Key responsibilities 
Maintaining a knowledge of all applicable regulations including those of the UK and US (ITAR/EAR) 
Compliance with Import and Export controls and regulations. 
Ensuring that procedures related to trade regulations and reporting requirements are in place for all appropriate areas of responsibility and, where necessary, develop and review policies and procedures to assist the business in compliance with Import and Export Regulations 
Releasing export shipments after all Trade Compliance requirements are satisfied. 
Ensure that the business is kept up to date with all export licensing controls and Customs and Excise procedures, including compliance audits. 
Liaise with Freight Forwarders to clear goods for Import, ensuring that we receive the necessary supporting paperwork, including Evidence of Export, for both Import and Export. 
Point of contact for Import and Export control compliance audits. 
Provide advice and guidance to all functions within the business on Import and Export Controls, for example, Export License Determination, End User documentation, Product Classification. 
Responsible for the application and use of Inward and Outward Processing relief, including applying for End-User Duty Relief if applicable 
Responsible for Export Licence applications through SPIRE. 
Communicate license provisos and limitations, as appropriate. 
Managing Licenses and Agreements with government regulators, as appropriate, ensuring all registrations are kept up to date as required by regulations. 
Giving advisory support to ensure that all applicable products are classified for export and import in accordance with UK and US regulations, as applicable 
Maintaining Trade Compliance recordkeeping in keeping with business procedures. 
Third party screening and carrying out Due Diligence on third parties, as required. 
Support Ultra Group on Customs and Excise (EORI, C79) and Export Controls as required, 
Adhering to the Ultra Group process to ensure export transaction screening and giving support to other screening service users, e.g HR. 
Managing an efficient and effective Trade Compliance program. 
Ensure proper management of technology licenses via an effective Technology Control Plan (TCP). 
Interfacing with the Senior Management Team regarding current and pending compliance regulation initiatives and legislation that may affect company business. 
Support the Quality Department with an internal audit program to ensure compliance with procedures. 
Develop and deliver a Trade Compliance Training Program at the Rugeley site. 
Managing Import and Export non-compliances 
Develop and implement continuous improvement actions to address any issues arising out of investigations, disclosures, governmental audits and identified deficiencies.

Personal attributes
Skills, Qualifications and Knowledge Required 
 Exp in and knowledge of all relevant export and import regulations for civil, dual-use and military products especially UK and EU regulations. 
General knowledge of a manufacturing business. 
Exp of managing IPR processes. 
Understanding of US ITAR and EAR regulations 
Exp of dealing with regulatory bodies and government audit management 
Good understanding of international trade terms and conditions 
Exp in drafting/making/managing license applications (US and UK) and reexport/retransfer requests. 
Exp in drafting procedures, carrying out internal audits. 
Exp in hosting audits with Export control authorities. 
Exp in carrying out investigations on alleged breaches. 
Capability to quickly build good relationships of cooperation, reciprocal help and trust with various internal and external stakeholders of different cultural background. 
Energetic and energising (able to motivate him/herself and to motivate others). 
Commercial background

Ability to manage multitasking in time pressured environment
